Remembering Doshu Kenjiro Yoshigasaki (1951 - 2021)

Kenjiro Yoshigasaki Sensei died on February 12th, 2021, in his adopted home, in Belgium.

We have lost an awesome and inspiring teacher and human.

He formed, shaped and developed Ki-Aikido in Europe and beyond for more than fifty years.

He will be sorely missed by thousands of aikidoka, but his seminars and teachings, during which he shared his wisdom, philosophy and elegant technique, will always be part of our memory. Encountering Yoshigasaki Sensei were fantastic experiences for his students, and in many cases an occasion to think about human nature and the meaning of life.

"When I see deeply into myself, I see that I do not want to fight and that I want peace and harmony. Then I can say that peace and harmony is a part of humanity. This is the real way to understand humanity."
(Yoshigasaki-Sensei, Inner Voyage of a Stranger, Heidelberg 2002)
